A personal project created in Unity Engine using the Fungus plugin, prototyping a roleplaying game and dialogue mechanic.
Using the Fungus plugin I was able to map out all the gameplay functions and systems using the flowchart alone, with no added scripts or plugins.
Roleplaying elements are based on simple conventional stats such as Strength, Intelligence, and Charisma, while also managing the player-characters Energy.
Dialogue is based on Robert Anton Wilson's interpretation of the 4th Circuit in Timothy Leary's 8-Circuit Model of Consciousness.
Continuing on the theme of the 4th Circuit, characters in the world are profiled based on their personalities, and are colour-coded accordingly. It also features a rather on-the-nose reference to the "Save The Cat" plot device often used in stories and films.
This is a prototype of a game that is currently in development, called 'Limboton Hills'. That game will include a more complex but equally abstract roleplaying and dialogue system, powered by Unreal Engine 5.1 and featuring a living world in 3D.
